Even those who are in the scrap metal business are now being aware of the new trend in car stealing. Ronnie Wadkins, the owner of the Car Crushing and Recycling of Alabama, has this to say: “Well, with the market like it is, people stealing radios, the wheels off of cars, the converters off of them, there’s a lot of extra money that hasn’t been out there that’s out there now.” Wadkins said that an average car would fetch a price of $150 to $200. That estimate is expected to increase depending on the demand in the market. “So, it’s making it more attractive for people to steal cars,” added Wadkins.
car recycling Before you get down to finding a scrap yard, there are things you must do to ensure that you squeeze out the last bit of profit you can make out of your scrap car. After all, why let some one else profit out of your car, if there is any money in the car it is only fair that you should make it. Scrap car yards have no requirement for anything that is not metal, they want only metal and anything else will only bring down the money you make out of it. So before you send your car over to the yard you should dismantle it and remove everything that is not metal. And, while you’re at it you should also remove those parts that you think you could sell through ebay.
Some automobile body repair outlets make use of recycled materials and auto parts. Most of these are as good as the original. Ask the repair shop if they use recycled auto salvage or junkyard parts. If they do, this can help you save a lot on the repair and also on the parts that need to be replaced.
When you recycle cars, you have less mass going to our landfills (who hasn’t seen a car crushed into a tiny square on TV) by taking any parts from the interior or exterior of the car that have the potential to be used on an existing vehicle. This helps people who need reasonably priced car parts and helps the environment at the same time.
Cars and trucks that are 1995 or newer, as of 2010 must have the title. Junk cars that are more than 15 years old don’t require a title. Also having a registration can help in some cases it depends on your location and state rules/regulations.
Even today there are a number of public recycling bins. Many grocery stores have bins for customers to return old plastic grocery bags. These bags are collected and then processed right back into new grocery bags. Other examples are bins for aluminum cans which can usually be readily found. Recycling is not a new notion, but initiating it into our daily living will take some time. In the past people would simply discard everything without a single thought. Now most people recycle their waste materials. Some people may not even realize they are recycling. Have you ever reused a plastic container? If so, then you have recycled.
